The success of Marvel’s The Avengers has already made Disney and Marvel happy and now the stars of the film are going to begin reaping the rewards. Robert Downey Jr., who stars in the film as Iron Man, will get the biggest. He will reportedly earn $50 million, more than 10 times what many of his co-stars will get.
Sources for The Hollywood Reporter say that after the film finishes its theatrical run and Downey Jr. receives bonuses and backend compensation, he could get roughly $50 million. Two sources even say that this could get even higher.
This is an enormous payday, especially when you consider that co-stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo will each earn between $2 million to $3 million, notes The Telegraph. Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson will earn twice that, but it is still just a fraction of what Downey Jr. will make.
