For the people who don’t know who you are, can you give them a brief introduction?
My names LeMicah Levert born march 5th 1990 in Cleveland Ohio but moved to New Jersey when I was 8. I’m an actor but I also work in music, I have a studio where I record artists and i also work in management as well.
Has acting been something you recently started ?
No I started acting when I was a little kid like 6 or 7 I did a little work on Nickelodeon, couple commercials. I went to an Arts school. I have an artistic side. My dad died when I was 16 and I felt I had to be obligated to my family and after being in college and being around different things I really felt like I had to get back in acting, that’s where I am meant to be. Im doing some things at Morehouse College and did some work with Tyler Perry.
Do you consider yourself a triple threat?
I don’t sing, I’ll leave that up to my dad and my grandfather. But I have a studio so I record a lot of artist and I help manage and do things of that nature. I always say “Acting is my passion but Music is what I know.” I always wanted to be an executive of a Record Label.
Who would be your ideal role to play?
My Dad. I would really like to play my dad. Im trying to write a story about him. That’s one person I’ve imitated my entire life. To play him or my grandfather would a blessing, that’s something I’ve always wanted to do.
What is something your Father and Grandfather has told you that has stuck with you?
My dad didn’t want me to be in the industry because he knew how hard it was. But he always said he wanted me to be better than him. My grandfather he supports me in my acting, both of them just want me to better than them and keep working. Don’t be lazy that’s one thing they both always told me…don’t be lazy.
Who would you like to work with?
My ideal person to work with would be Will Smith. Every since I was a little kid Will Smith has been that guy, like my ideal. I always knew he would be something great. And now he’s the highest paid actor in the world.
Also I am a fun of a lot of ensemble work. I like Modern Family. It’s an all around great show its on ABC and that would be one show I would love to be apart of.
What’s next for you?
I am currently doing a monologue and opening up for Danielle Dede , also I started working with Terry Vaughn from the Steve Harvey Show. So that’s the closest thing I’m doing right now.
Advice for people to strive to follow in your footsteps ?
Don’t give up because at one point I did and its not cool. If you want to do it, keep pushing. If you want it go for it and don’t let anything turn you away.
